Canadian Federal Skilled Trades program was designed originally for businessmen and employers who faced a huge shortage of skilled laborers and employees. Through this program, Canada gives an opportunity to all the workers who have previous working experience of at least 2 years in their respective fields of cooking, cleaning, HVAC, mechanical, etc. These workers can apply for permanent residence on the basis of their skilled trade experience.

As for the eligibility to apply under the federal skilled trades program 2021 for permanent residency, you need to follow a criterion wherein your trade must come under the Skill Type B of NOC for one of the groups.

• Major Group 72, industrial, electrical, and construction trades

• Major Group 73, maintenance and equipment operation trades

• Major Group 82, supervisors and technical jobs in natural resources, agriculture, and related production

• Major Group 92, processing, manufacturing, and utility supervisors and central control operators

• Minor Group 632, chefs and cooks

• Minor Group 633, butchers and bakers

Skilled Trades Canada: Elements

These are certain pointers and elements that you should know before you go further with the Canadian Federal Skilled Trades Class.

• For any of the subcategories of NOC that you apply for, you must have previously performed all the required and main duties in your job.

• Although there are no pre-requisite educational requirements to apply for FSTP particularly, still you can improve your CRS score in the Express Entry profile by getting good points on Language tests, increasing your work experience, and much more.

• To apply for FSTP you have to meet the minimum language ability score of CLB 5 for speaking + listening and CLB 4 for writing + reading. This is necessary to prove to the Canadian government that you’re capable enough to communicate for your job in any one or both of their official languages (English/French).

• You must have an employer before reaching the foreign lands who will give you experience and training for the job that you’ve applied for.

• The Federal Trade Program Canada now regulates under the Express Entry System so it is much easier to apply.
