Canada to cut immigration by 20% in 2025

The government announced the following decreases in the goals for admissions of permanent residents during the following three years in the Immigration Levels Plan, which was made public on October 24:

2025: 395,000, which is less than the 485,000 goal for 2024 and the 500,000 goal that was previously stated in the 2024–2026 Immigration Levels Plan.
2026: 380,000, a decrease from the 2024–2026 Immigration Levels Plan goal of 500,000.
365,000 in 2027.
