VFS Global made a new announcement favorable for any or all types of Canadian Visa holders currently living in India and prospective applicants planning to file any Canadian Visa Applications. In this, they exposed that the step of passport submission and collection that earlier used to take place by booking a two-way courier service has now an added option of in-person submission and collection of passports by the applicants themselves.

Effective from 1st August 2022, VFS Global now permits in-person passport submission and collection given that the candidates have booked an appointment. Before this, candidates had to book two-way courier services for this step which took a much longer time than anticipated. This decision has been taken in regards to the easing of Covid-19 restrictions and the change will be applied to Visa Application Centers throughout the country.

The updated timing for applicants to submit or collect their passports will be 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM IST Monday to Friday. Additionally, the previously available walk-in option on Saturday will be unavailable effective from 1st August itself. However, the courier method of passport-related services will stay intact giving an option to the applicants to either get their passport delivered to the authorities or go through with the steps on their own. Kindly note, that the applicants must book an appointment before they visit any center of VFS Global for passport submission or collection.
