IRCC processing times for January 2026: The most recent processing times for all of the main application categories were released by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on January 14, 2026.
The previous target-based method, which frequently failed to represent actual waits, has been replaced with these estimates, which are based on the actual timescales encountered by 80% of applicants.
While PR cards and temporary resident applications (such as work permits, study permits, and visitor visas) are updated weekly, permanent residency and citizenship categories are updated monthly.
