On February 19, 2026, Canada invited 391 doctors to apply for permanent residency at a record-low CRS cutoff of just 169 points in its first-ever express entry draw, which was solely for doctors with Canadian work experience.
One of the quickest category implementations in express entry history, the historic draw coincides with the introduction of the new physicians category, which was announced by Immigration Minister Lena Metlege Diab just one day before.
