The federal minimum wage will increase to $18.15 per hour on April 1, 2026, according to official confirmation from the Canadian government.
This is no longer a projection. It was formally announced this morning by Employment and Social Development Canada.
The rate has increased by 40 cents, or 2.3%, from the existing $17.75. More significantly, after the introduction of the independent federal minimum wage in 2021, it represents a cumulative increase of 21%.
