The Latest Manitoba PNP Draw for July

The province of Manitoba issued an Invitation to Apply to candidates under various categories available for their provincial nominee program. The latest draw was held on 28 July 2022 wherein applications were accepted under three streams namely, Skilled Workers in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled Workers Overseas. The Comprehensive Ranking score was different for each category but the last category especially had no minimum CRS score cutoff. Not only this, out of the total ITAs issued, 56 were invited under Express Entry System by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada who had a complete profile submitted under the system and fulfilled the remaining requirements of the province.

Skilled Workers in Manitoba

  • ITAs Issued: 299

  • Minimum CRS score: 633 or above

International Education Stream

  • ITAs Issued: 41

  • No minimum CRS score

Skilled Workers Overseas

  • ITAs Issued: 15

  • Minimum CRS score: 726 or above

A provincial nomination directly credits you 600 points on the Comprehensive Ranking System which is half of the total score of 1200 needed to get an Invitation to Apply. Although applying directly for permanent residency in Canada is the wiser decision, still having a provincial nomination always seems like a great backup plan.

Who cannot apply for MPNP?

Not everyone is allowed to apply for a PNP in Manitoba. Even if you qualify for the basic eligibility you won’t be allowed to apply if you fall under any one of the given points.

  • People undergoing a removal process, refugee claimants, or if anyone is a part of a federal appeal

  • Live with Caregivers already residing in Canada

  • Any candidate residing outside Manitoba as a temporary foreign worker

  • Spouse of Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents

  • Candidates whose applications underwent a refusal in the last six months and they are unable to explain the reason for refusal

  • The candidate who has their application under review for any other Canadian program

Skilled Workers in Manitoba

This program requires the applicant to be able to show their strong and ongoing connections with employers in the province of Manitoba. In addition to this, they should have relevant skills, knowledge, work experience, and will to stay in the province permanently.

Skilled Workers Overseas

These program issues invitations to the candidates who successfully indicate their strong connection with any one of the given: family/friends living in Manitoba; previous education/work experience in Manitoba; Invitation to Apply from MPNP.

International Education Stream

This program has three subdivisions to help with the permanent residency of international students of different categories. The first is the Graduate Internship Pathway granting ITA to candidates having a doctoral/master’s degree program completed in Manitoba in the past 3 years. For this, a job offer from the province is not essential. The second is the Career Employment Pathway for which the candidates need to be a graduate from an authorized DLI in the last 3 years in addition to having a year’s full-time job offer. The last is the International Student Entrepreneur Pilot in which the applicant should have a full-time post-secondary course pursued from Manitoba. The course duration should be of 2 full years. Also, the candidate must be a 51% owner of a business established in Manitoba and an active Senior Manager for the last half-year before applying under this stream.
