Under the International Experience Canada program, youth from countries with bilateral Youth Mobility Agreements (bYMAS) are eligible for one-to two-year work permits.

IEC work permits are exempt from Labor Market Impact Assessments (LMIA); thus, they are faster and easier to obtain than those under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP).

An applicant must be between 18 and 30 years of age or between 18 and 35 years of age, depending on their citizenship, to be eligible to apply within the IEC program.

It is somewhat possible to be eligible to take the IEC program twice.
