For low-wage TFWP applications, Canada’s revised unemployment rates by Census Metropolitan Area (CMA) are now in force through April 9, 2026. Both companies’ hiring capacity and employees’ access to LMIA-based positions are impacted by these rates, which directly influence whether low-wage LMIAs will be processed. The modification will be reviewed in the upcoming quarterly cycle and is applicable to LMIAs submitted between January 9 and April 9, 2026.
