An important step toward boosting francophone immigration outside of Quebec was taken on November 28, 2025, when Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada welcomed 6,000 applicants in a new Express Entry draw for candidates with strong French language proficiency.
In addition to dropping the Comprehensive Ranking System cutoff down to the second-lowest levels in 2025, this draw maintains the pattern of significant French-focused rounds in the second half of 2025.
