Observing the ongoing labor shortage in the Canadian market, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada have collaborated with the Canadian Minister of Tourism and Associate Minister of Finance to aid the families of the temporary foreign workers residing onshore. Canada work permit visa was originally provided only to temporary residents’ spouses whose primary applicant was employed in a high-skill occupation. However, this requirement is now being amended to allow all the workers in Canada an opportunity to stay close to their family members and take care of their physical health, emotional well-being, and maintain their financial status in Canada. The authorities believe that by doing so, the skilled and semi-skilled workers will be able to better fuse into their broad work environment and community.
