New South Wales to Open Application Window in January

The New South Wales Regional Sponsor majorly has different streams through which applicants can submit their profiles given, they meet the minimum eligibility criteria. Candidates residing onshore but in a different state will also be able to apply under some of these streams.

Criteria for Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)

To be invited by the state through 190 visa subclass, the candidate should follow the given criteria:

• Meet the eligibility requirements in accordance with the Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)
• Submit your profile of Expression of Interest in SkillSelect
• Acquire a valid skills assessment
• Must be residing in New South Wales for the last 3 months
• Be employed in NSW where your current job position matches the standard of skilled employment in the nominated occupation

Criteria for Skilled Work Regional Visa (Subclass 491)

To be invited by the state under the 491 visa subclass, the applicant must be able to meet the requirements of one of the available streams.

1^st Stream: Live & Work in Regional New South Wales

To submit your application under this stream, the applicant must:

• Have a positive skills assessment in the occupation listed under Stream 1 Combined Occupation List
• Be living and working in the nominated or related occupation for the last 12 months

2^nd Stream: Recently completed a study program in Regional NSW

To submit your application under this stream, the applicant must:

• Have a positive skills assessment for the occupation listed under NSW’s skilled occupation list
• Graduated or completed their studies in the past 2 years of application wherein the study is eligible to claim points

3^rd Stream: Skilled in the occupation in-demand in Regional NSW

To submit your application under this stream, the applicant must:

• Have a positive skills assessment in the occupation list of Regional NSW
• Currently reside in an Australian territory/state
