The Canadian government announced a 1. 4% quarterly rise in Old Age Security deposits for the October to December 2026 quarter, which will result in substantially greater OAS payments for older Canadians beginning with the October 28 payment.
This is the strongest single-quarter adjustment of the entire calendar year, pushing the cumulative year-over-year gain from October 2025 to October 2026 to 3. 0%, surpassing the 1. 2% increase that took effect in July.
For those aged 65 to 74, the new rate increases the maximum monthly OAS pension from $751. 97 to around $762. 50; for those aged 75 and above, it increases from $827. 17 to approximately $838. 75.
