The federal government has officially stated that qualified Canada Disability Benefit recipients would get a new indexed monthly maximum of $204. 20 and a one-time $150 supplemental payment in September 2026, totaling up to $354. 20.
The official news release issued by ESDC states that Minister Patty Hajdu stated that the first wave of $150 top-ups would be paid on September 17, 2026, the same day as the regular monthly CDB payment.
Recipients will receive two different CDB amounts in a single month for the first time since the program began in July 2025, marking the largest combined monthly disability payment in the program’s history.
