A public consultation on potential Express Entry reforms, which might change how Canada chooses skilled immigrants for permanent residency, has been initiated by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Organizations and the general public are welcome to participate in the consultation period, which runs from April 23 to May 24, 2026.
This is not a standard change to the policy.
IRCC is proposing to update the Comprehensive Ranking System scoring methodology, add a new high-wage profession criteria that will drastically alter the way candidates are scored, and replace the three current Express Entry programs with a single, unified pathway.
