Just 23,000 people came to UK last year on youth mobility visas

The British youth mobility policy brought in just 23,000 workers last year, a small portion of net migration overall. This may alleviate Labour government concerns as it faces pressure to accept young EU holidaymakers.

Australia accounted for 9,900 of the total number of workers on the Youth Mobility Scheme (YMS) visa program in 2023, followed by New Zealand with 5,300.
