FSWP & CEC Draws to resume from 6th July

Immigration Minister Sean Fraser finally gave a time stamp on the resumption of all programs Express Entry Draw. In the interview with the Canadian news agency, he announced that the supposed FSWP, FSTP, and CEC draws will commence again on 6th July 2022. This is great news for the aspiring candidates who have been waiting on an update on the paused Express Entry draws for the past two years. The last draw for Federal Skilled Worker Program was held at the end of December 2020. Since then, there have neither been any draws nor any updates regarding the start of the same. For a long period, candidates who had their profiles submitted in the Express Entry System were waiting on any news from IRCC regarding the draws. Surprisingly, they came up with more than a few.

IRCC made immigration-related announcements at specific intervals, gradually opening up the economy. First, they lifted the travel and border restrictions followed by the country allowing entry to foreign travelers. Later they announced the renewal of the NOC System of Occupation Code verification being replaced by the newly launched TEER System. This new system is said to be more precise and aid the immigration of Skilled Workers to a much greater extent. This was followed by the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada stating clearly to bring back the six months standard processing time of permanent residency visa applications. The latest news is the most relieving for Express Entry candidates.

About Express Entry Pathway

This is a fast-tracked way for skilled workers to apply for permanent residency in Canada given that they are eligible as per the stated standards. The Express Entry system is a program that functions based on points allotted to the applicant according to six important elements, age, language proficiency, work experience, previous education, adaptability, and spouse/partner. The applicant has to submit an EOI (Expression of Interest) that is then assessed and reviewed by IRCC who gives scores in terms of the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), to the candidates. After the submission and assessment of the application, you enter the Express Entry Pool from which top candidates having the highest CRS Score are selected and invited to apply.

How to increase your chances of getting nominated?

Merely making your profile and filling out the requirements won’t increase your chances of getting picked. For that, you need to keep certain things in mind.

  • Make sure that your IELTS score, Passport, and Express Entry Profile are up to date and not expiring anytime soon.
  • Improve English and French points if you think that you still have the slightest margin of rejection.
  • Focus on your work experience and try to get as much field exposure as possible so that your profile stands out.
  • You can also add your spouse’s credentials to your profile if you’re married and you’re applying as a couple.
