Hundreds of international grads in Alberta claim that Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) denied their post-graduation work permits due to a single designation: “non-credit.

Mostly examined via continuous education programs provided by Portage College and held at partner sites in Calgary and Edmonton.

They received refusal letters this summer after applying for a PGWP and finishing their degrees.

Many had already begun working while awaiting a verdict. Usually, a refusal means they must cease working on the day IRCC informs them.
