The government of Canada has announced that applications for the $5,000 completion incentive, which offers eligible skilled trades workers and apprentices a financial incentive to finish their apprenticeship training, will open on November 16, 2026.
In an October 23 news release, Employment and Social Development Canada verified the portal’s launch date and advised qualified craftspeople to start compiling their paperwork immediately.
The new $5,000 compensation supersedes a prior era of federal apprenticeship completion incentives, such as the $2,000 Apprenticeship Completion Grant, which ended on March 31, 2025.
