British Columbia invites more Tech Workers in February

British Columbia held their latest draw on 1st March, issuing 136 Invitations to Apply to candidates under four categories.

British Columbia held another tech draw of the year on 1st march 2022 wherein they issued 136 Invitations to apply to the candidates who had their applications submitted under various streams. The four major categories were Skills Immigration-Skilled Worker, Skills Immigration-International Graduate, EEBC- Skilled Worker, and EEBC- International Graduate. The occupations that benefitted from this draw were of IT sector. Skilled Workers and International Graduates were invited to apply for permanent residency. The invitees who had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score of 85 passed the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria for BC PNP Tech Program

There are certain requirements regarding job offer that one must fulfill.

  • Although this program does not require an LMIA, you still must have a valid job offer.
  • You can qualify if your job offer is in one of the 29 selected in-demand occupations.
  • Your job offer must be valid for at least one year.
  • If you are already working with the employer then you must have 120 days left in the current position before you submit your application under this pilot program.

Benefits of BCPNP Tech Program

The pilot program was started to help Tech employers in British Columbia to recruit and retain global talent if they are unable to fill in the job positions locally. It provides 29 tech occupations that are a fast-tracked way for permanent residency. One just needs to receive a work permit support letter from the employer for any of the eligible occupations which allow them to apply for a work permit.
