What is a Working Holiday Visa Subclass 417?

The Australian Working Holiday Visa is the only visa subcategory out of all that works in complete favor of the tourist wishing to visit and work in the country simultaneously. First Working Holiday Visa

For candidates who are aged between 18-30 years or are Canadian, French or Irish aged 18-35, they can apply for this visa if this is their first extended vacation and they need to work in order to fund their trip. To be eligible for first working holiday visa 417, you should have a passport of acceptable jurisdiction and willing to work. In addition to this, the candidate needs to be outside Australia at the time of applying for this visa.

Second Working Holiday Visa

For candidates who are aged between 18-30 years or are Canadian, French or Irish aged 18-35, they can apply for this visa if they currently hold or have held in past a Working Holiday Visa. They also must hold a visa of acceptable jurisdiction/country and if residing in Australia, should hold a substantive visa. To be eligible for a second 417 visa  you must have completed 3 months of specified subclass 417 works. At the time of applying for this visa the candidate can be inside or outside Australia.

  • Stay Permitted: 12 months
  • Cost: AUD 495

Third Working Holiday Visa

For candidates who are aged between 18-30 years or are Canadian, French or Irish aged 18-35, they can apply for this visa if they currently hold, or who have held, a second Working Holiday visa in the past. They also must hold a visa of acceptable jurisdiction/country and if residing in Australia, should hold a substantive visa. To be eligible for a thrid working holiday visa 417 you must have completed 6 months of specified subclass 417 works. At the time of applying for this visa the candidate can be inside or outside Australia.

  • Stay Permitted: 12 months
  • Cost: AUD 495

 

Requirements to apply for Working Holiday Visa

  • The candidate should hold a passport of a particular country or jurisdiction or they need to be the citizen of that country to apply for this visa.
  • They must meet the minimum age requirement of 18-30 years
Note: If you apply for the visa at the age of 30 and you turn 31 by the time your application is approved then you needn't worry. You will still be eligible to enter Australia.
  • The applicant must not have entered Australia previously on a work and holiday visa or Visa 417
  • They should carry enough funds to support themselves and meet the Australian health and character requirements
