CANADA FAMILY SPONSORSHIP: 2021 PROCESS EXPLAINED

 

Canada is giving a chance to the permanent residents of the country to invite their associated people to live in Canada under the status of Canadian permanent residency. This is a great opportunity for people who never wanted to leave behind their family.

With decreased processing time, Canada is giving this program their utmost priority. Even during the pandemic, this visa still has the same amount of applications, if not increased.

 

 

 

CATEGORIES UNDER CANADA FAMILY SPONSORSHIP

This program has certain categories under which one can apply for the sponsorship.

  • Sponsor your spouse, partner or dependent children
  • Sponsor you relatives
  • Sponsor you Parents/Grandparents

ELIGIBILITY FOR THE SPONSOR

 

 

If you want to sponsor someone you have to follow the below mentioned criteria. If you fall under any one of the eligibility criteria then you can invite anyone to apply for permanent residency. You should be:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Be a Canadian citizen, Living in Canada or a Registered Indian
  • Able to support the sponsored financially
  • You need to make sure they don’t require any social assistance

 

 

ELIGIBILTY FOR THE SPONSORED

 

 

There is certain criterion for the person being sponsored as well. Not everyone can be eligible to get sponsored. You need to fall under any one of the categories mentioned below to be eligible.

  • Your Spouse/Married Partner
  • Your Common Law Partner
  • Your Conjugal Partner
  • Dependent Children (Your own child & Your Spouse/Partner’s Child)

 

 

APPLICATION PROCESS FOR CANADA FAMILY SPONSORSHIP

  1. Prepare Two Applications

If you and the person you’re sponsoring are eligible for this program then you have to prepare two applications. One application is for the sponsor containing the records that they are capable of sponsoring another person. The other application is for the sponsored person containing the request for Permanent residency. Both applications are to be submitted to the IRCC.

  1. Pay the Necessary Fee

The preparation of application is one step, but the next is to deposit the fee. This includes application fees, biometrics fee and any other third-party fee.

  1. Submit your Application

After doing all the necessary work, you need to submit your application so that it goes forward into processing. You application will be submitted to the IRCC.

  1. Acknowledgement of Receipt

This is a document that you will receive from their end if your application is approved. The AOR is the final step in your application journey. Make sure that your application is optimum so that you reduce any chance of rejections.

 

2021 PARENT/GRANDPARENT VISA

The Canadian government has improved their Parent/Grandparent Visa category and now, in 2021, it is giving chances to as many as 30,000 applications being accepted under this scheme. The eligibility criteria for the sponsor remain the same as above. Though there are slight changes in the eligibility for the sponsored person. This person should be a parent/grandparent related by blood or adoption. Even their dependents can now be sponsored. You can also be a co-signer for your spouse’s parents/grandparents.
